NO AND ME

NO ET MOI

bandeAnnonce NO ET MOI

Lou (Nina Rodriguez), a polite, petite and precocious 13 year-old Parisian, is smart-beyond her-years, still immature, and anything but streetwise. A class project on homelessness motivates Lou to "interview" and befriend a teenage vagrant, No, at the Austerlitz train station. Eighteen year-old No (Julie-Marie Parmentier) fills her days with petty crimes, bumming cigarettes and loitering. She's a product of a series of foster homes and her wild ways attract the sheltered young Lou who is still very much her parents' child. The two girls inevitably bond and Lou finally convinces her reluctant Mom & Dad to board No in a vacant room in their apartment. It's obvious that the vagabond is unstable and may turn out to be a corrupting influence on their young daughter. We can anticipate some of the changes that Lou will undergo, but can sudden entry into a bourgeois lifestyle succeed in transforming No?

Director/Actor Zabou Breitman co-wrote the script adapted from Delphine de Vigan's best-selling novel (Prix des Libraires 2008) and plays a pivotal role as the almost catatonic Mom (she has recently lost an infant daughter). NO AND ME received great critical acclaim in France when it opened last Fall.
