Belgian bombshell Virginie Efira took French audiences by storm with this knockout performance as Joanna, a bubbly talented blonde who works for despotic drama-queen industrial designer Philippe (Élie Semoun at his nuttiest). CINEMANIA audiences are bound to fall in love with her as well...
Joanna meets affable Julien (François-Xavier Demaison), a marriage counselor with great romantic potential, but what she doesn't know is that Julien is a jinx, a mega-bearer of bad luck. Every relationship he's had ended in a series of minor catastrophes (some even involving hospitalization). In time, Joanna, the love of Julien's life, proves to be no exception to "the curse of Julien".
This romantic comedy offers up some wonderfully burlesque farcial humour, always refreshingly funny and genuinely interesting because there's real chemistry between the two leads. And Director Nicolas Cuche serves up an unusual twist on the standard Ernst Lubitsch-style comedies that involve ridiculous misunderstandings - this screen couple truly want to be together despite all odds!
The film unfolds in flashback after Julien finally enters a monastery, a much safer all-male environment protective of the women he serially dates. This guy is lethally dangerous -can Joanna overcome "the jinx of Julien"?
