IMPERIAL CINEMA
Centre Sandra et Leo Kolber | Salle Lucie et André Chagnon
PATRICE LECONTE & PAULINE LEFEVRE will be present Thursday November 10th (7:30PM) and Friday November 11th (1:00PM).
Just when we had given up hope, acclaimed director Patrice Leconte, winner of the CINEMANIA Prix du Public 1999 for THE GIRL ON THE BRIDGE, brings us a quintessentially French 21st century New Wave film, evoking Francois Truffaut's <i>'ménage à trois'<i> JULES AND JIM, that made the iconic Jeanne Moreau into a star.
Two hunks, brothers Clément and Nicolas, are travelling across France from Burgundy to Saint Jean-de-Luz on the Atlantic coast to visit their sick mother. They have a disarming encounter with the endearing, desirable, and free-spirited Prudence (fresh and natural newcomer Pauline Lefèvre) who has never seen the sea. Our little band of 3 joins together in a used camper-trailer for a bucolic and adventurous road-movie with a twist - both brothers fall for the insouciant loose-limbed Prudence and share her without jealousy!
A great soundtrack by Étienne Perruchon and director Leconte's professionalism make for a highly original romantic comedy. Over-the-top Gilles Cohen adds hilarity as Prudence's spurned lover Max, chasing the trio all across the country and adding a dollop of suspense to the action. And, Pauline Lefèvre brings a uniquely off-beat and captivating sexuality to her starring role.
