Passionate about cinema and culture, Catherine Beauchamp created in 2008 "Le Tapis Rose de Catherine", a web magazine focused on cinema and showcasing the work of artists from Quebec, France and around the world. In 2009, after only one year of creating "Le Tapis Rose", Catherine won her first Gémeaux award in the category of Best original program or series produced for digital media: magazine, sports, documentary or public affairs, and won a second one seven years later. She creates her trademark by strolling on the red carpets, armed with her pink microphone, in various film festivals such as Cannes where she becomes a regular.In 2010, she became a contributor to the radio station 98.5 FM and cultural columnist at Week-end Extra in 2016. The host and producer has been at the helm of "Le Tapis Rose" with passion and perseverance for 11 years now, a phenomenal longevity that is almost unique in the media and web world. She was also honoured at the 2018 Gala de Femmes du Cinéma, de la Télévision et des Médias Numériques (FCTMN) for her significant contribution to the Quebec cultural industry and her inspiring career path.
Since September 2019, Catherine has been one of Patrick Lagacé's collaborators on the program "Le Québec maintenant" every day from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm on 98.5.
Nathalie Duchesne
FOUNDING PRESIDENT OF L'AGENCE ARTISTIQUE DUCHESNE, AGENT
Nathalie Duchesne has always been attracted and fascinated by the cultural universe.Her passion for the arts is communicative and despite her young age, she was entrusted with the management of the Harlequin Theater, now called the Olympia. For 6 years, she managed all the operations, including the ticket office and the 25 people who work there. In addition, she supervised the renovations of this venue with a budget of half a million dollars. Afterwards, she managed the Félix Leclerc Theater until its closure.
Then, wishing to increase attendance at the theater, she created her first ticket brokerage company; Les Entreprises Dupont et Dupond. The success of this company attracted the founder of Videotron André Chagnon who became a partner and later owner.
In April 1991, she changes course and founds the Agence Artistique Duchesne. Her brother joins the company as partner and general manager. The agency operates in the television, film, theatre and advertising markets. Its mission is to defend the interests of the artists it represents actors, authors, composers, directors, animators, scriptwriters, translators.
Composed of a team of 14 seasoned collaborators who are agents, negotiators, lawyers, experts who deal with all matters concerning artists and the management of their schedules, media requests and the development of career strategies and the development of the Canadian, American and European markets.
Nathalie Duchesne also participates in improving artists' working conditions. Among other things, the Union des artistes (UDA) has entrusted her for the past 15 years with the facilitation of workshops for artists. She is also a member of the Association québécoise des agents artistiques du Québec (AQAA), on which she served as vice-president for several years.
Mylène Mackay
ACTRESS
A graduate of the National Theater School of Canada in 2011, Mylène Mackay very quickly made a name for herself in Quebec’s cultural milieu. The film industry honoured her for several of her roles, such as Ziad Touma’s web series LE JUDAS, for which she was nominated at the Gémeaux Awards Gala in 2012 or again for her nomination in AVOIR L’AIR DE at the Gala des Olivier. In 2017, she also won a prize for her interpretation in François Jaros’ well-known series L’ÂGE ADULTE. The preceding year, she was nominated for her supporting role in André Turpin’s ENDORPHINE. Her wonderful interpretation of Nelly in the film by the same name garnered her the prestigious award for best female actress at the Quebec Cinema Gala in 2017. In the same year at the TIFF, she drew attention in the Rising Star category which singles out “the best and brightest performers in the Canadian film industry”. In 2019, she was nominated for her supporting roles in the popular series LES HONORABLES and MENSONGES, at the Gémeaux Awards.On the small screen, Mylène has acted in several projects, notably Francis Leclerc’s LES BEAUX MALAISES, Jean Phillipe Duval’s UNITÉ 9, Patrice Sauvé’s VICTOR LESSARD and Mariloup Wolfe’s RUPTURES.
In the past few months, audiences have seen Mylène in several films, notably Daniel Grou’s (“Podz”) MAFIA INC., Philippe Lesage’s GENÈSE, André Forcier’s LES FLEURS OUBLIÉES as well as in Benoit Lach’s la série jeunesse LE 422. She will soon be seen in ESCOUADE 99 directed by Patrick Huard.
Marianne Farley
ACTRESS, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, MEMBER OF FCTMN
By the time she was 19, Marianne knew that her career would take place under the lights. She began as a singer, but in 1997 her acting work started garnering attention. Fully bilingual, she has performed in a variety of projects in television (LES INVINCIBLES, NOS ÉTÉS, THE DEAD ZONE, LE GENTLEMAN, MÉMOIRES VIVES, THIS LIFE, HEROES REBORN and 19-2) and in film (WHITE SKIN, CHRISTMAS CHOIR, UVANGA, LA CHUTE DE SPARTE). A true lover of the seventh art, Marianne has also produced five short films, one of which, BOXING DAY (MON CHER ROBERT), got a nomination at the 2010 Jutra awards and a feature film (LES NÔTRES) co-produced with Benoit Beaulieu in 2019 (directed by Jeanne Leblanc). In August of 2014, more than ready to bring her artistic vision to the next level, she directed her first short film, SACCAGE (RANSACK), in 2017, MARGUERITE (nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the Oscars © in 2019) and in 2020, FRIMAS (produced by Ô Films). Marianne cofounded the company SLYKID & SKYKID with Benoit Beaulieu and has several feature film projects in development including LA FAUCHE (written by Camille Trudel) and NORTH OF ALBANY (cowritten by Claude Brie) which is set to shoot in the fall of 2020.Nicole Robert
PRODUCER AND FOUNDER OF THE MONTREAL COMPANY GO FILMS
As President and founder of GO Films, Nicole Robert has brought to the screen 33 feature length films and the popular series LA VIE, LA VIE. Nine of her films were smashing hits at the Quebec box-office. All of them were shown on the international scene in more than a hundred festivals and garnered prestigious awards.Over time, Nicole has brought to the screen some of Quebec’s most noteworthy feature films such as LA GUERRE DES TUQUES (Prix de la Bobine d ’Or 1983) that garnered praise on both the Canadian and international scenes and REQUIEM POUR UN BEAU SANS COEUR, Robert Morin’s first feature film which won the award for best Canadian film at the Toronto Film Festival in 1992 and was one of the selections at the Cannes Critics Week. Worthy of mention is QUÉBEC-MONTRÉAL, Ricardo Trogi’s first feature which was the opening film at the Quebec Cinema Week in Paris where it garnered the “Bayard d’or” for the best screenplay, a special jury prize at the Namur Film Festival and the “Jutra du Meilleur Film”. Nicole’s collaboration with Trogi continued with HORLOGE BIOLOGIQUE and the trilogy 1981, 1987,1991 which won him the “Canadian Screen Awards” and both the “Prix du Public” and the Iris prize in 2019. She also produced SUR LE SEUIL, Eric Tessier’s first feature film, screenplay co-written with Patrick Sénécal ; TOUT EST PARFAIT, Yves Christian Fournier’s first feature film at the “Berlinale”, Panorama section, which won the “Grand Prix du jury” at the Seattle International Film Festival and the “Bayard d’or” for the best screenplay at Namur as well as LES 7 JOURS DU TALION shown at the Sundance Film Festival and a first feature film for Daniel Grou (“Podz”). In 2016, KING DAVE, her third collaboration with Podz, was the opening film at the Fantasia Film Festival, winning the prize for the best Canadian film as well as the best film at the We Love Paris Film Festival. Of note is the film NELLY based on the life and work of Nelly Arcan, written and directed by Anne Émond, which won the best international film prize at the Sonoma International Film Festival and 4 Iris prizes at the Quebec Cinema Gala. More recently, she produced FABULEUSES which won the Prix du public at the Busan Film Festival and Guillaume de Fontenay’s SYMPATHIE POUR LE DIABLE, winner of a dozen prizes in several film festivals as well as 3 Iris prizes, including Best First Film.
In 2005, Nicole Robert was honoured at the Gala for Women in Cinema, Television and New Media. In 2013, she received the QACP Tribute prize for the body of her work. In 2017, she was the recipient of the Denis Héroux prize at the Fantasia Film Festival honouring her exceptional contribution to genre films.
Before starting her first production company Lux Films, Nicole Robert was a graphic artist who, for ten years, made animated films with LES FILMS QUEBEC LOVE and ANIMABEC as founder and president.
