FRANÇOIS DOMPIERRE DAY

“What a beautiful idea this association of CINEMANIA with Écho Sonore in order to put music in the spotlight and celebrate the man with 60 film scores, François Dompierre " !
« I am delighted with this initiative, which fits perfectly with the mission of our NPO, a collective dedicated to the promotion of songs and music from here and elsewhere. Ideator of the Maison de la chanson et de la musique du Québec, which will come to life in a few years in the Saint-Sulpice library, Écho Sonore wishes through this partnership to affirm its desire to be where song and music are celebrated, in one form or another.

« On November 12, I invite you to the Cinémathèque Québécoise for a day dedicated to François Dompierre, this pioneer of film music in Quebec to whom we owe the music of masterpieces such as La Passion d’Augustine, Le Déclin de l'empire américain, Le Matou, Jésus de Montréal and IXE-13. Following the screening of some of these films and a new documentary on François, produced by our NPO and CINEMANIA, I will have the pleasure to host an interview with him as well as an intergenerational roundtable with composers Pierre Lapointe and Catherine Major, and the French conductor Zahia Ziouani, who will be present thanks to the collaboration of the French General Consulate, also a partner of this day. »
