​CINEMANIA invites you to a career highlight of cinematographer Louis Bélanger! The Quebec filmmaker has been awarded the medal of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic.



Regrettably, because of the pandemic, the ceremony cannot take place in the presence of spectators, his many friends, collaborators, and family members. Never mind: CINEMANIA invites you to attend this unique event marking the exceptional career of Louis Bélanger, and particularly his contribution to raising the profile of French language cinema. The ceremony will be recorded live at Montreal’s Imperial Cinema, a theatre that the cinematographer holds dear, and in the presence of the Consul General of France in Quebec, His Excellency M. Fréderic Sanchez.

It was in 2017 that Louis Bélanger learned that he would receive the medal of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République française, and for the occasion, Radio-Canada spoke with the filmmaker about it.
