BREATHE

Fouad is a 15-year-old Moroccan immigrant who loves soccer. On the other hand, Max, 27 years old, was born in Quebec. The destinies of Fouad and Max will cross in an explosive situation, in which both of them and the viewer will not escape unscathed. Respire is a suspense film that addresses racial tensions, economic uncertainty, and social inequalities in society. Turkish-born Quebec director Onur Karaman paints a frontal portrait of immigration, lifting the veil on the illusions of a better future that are too often idealized and pointing out the obstacles that newcomers face, especially in finding a job that is fair to their skills.
