CINEMANIA’s opinion :
LABOR DAY is more about what happens before! Before giving life. It’s about crossing the entire country to be with your wife in time to hear your baby’s first cry, about saving an international crisis in between two contractions, about finding the strength to put aside your father’s death when your wife has decided to go through with giving birth in a Jacuzzi, or when you steal the cellphone of your patient to find out who the father is. All of this makes for a very special labor day.
CINEMANIA’s opinion :
A social comedy played by an impressive cast of popular actors led by Josiane Balasko (FRENCH TWIST, THE HEDGEHOG). Together with Nicolas Maury (CALL MY AGENT!, MY BEST PART), they make a particularly funny and explosive duo of health sector professionals on the brink of a nervous breakdown. The audience is delighted to rediscover, in their roles as mothers about to give birth, Lea Drucker (CUSTODY, TWO OF US) and Alice Pol (CEZANNE AND I) as well as Florence Loiret-Caille (THE BUREAU), among others. Each one brings along with her her couple stories and life trajectories that intersect. An hyperlink story with a frenetic rhythm that doesn’t hesitate to cast a tender and kindly look at paternity.
