When Rose arrives in France from Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, she moves to the Paris suburbs with her two sons, Jean, and Ernest. The movie follows the development and decline of a family from the late 1980s to the present day. Awarded the “Caméra d'or” in 2017 with her first feature film Jeune femme, Léonor Serraille delivers here a personal and delicate work inspired by the true story of her children's father. With a carefully crafted script, Un petit frère highlights three equally touching and intense views that each in turn question the predefined roles within a family. Leading this family trio of a mother and her two sons is the excellent Annabelle Lengronne (Filles de joie).
