NIGHT RIDE

Paris, 2018. Jin used to be a DJ in Beijing. Now he is just another illegal immigrant, working for the Triads in Paris. Playing inspiring electro music in his car, he drives at night in a fraudulent taxi scheme. Naomi, a troubling and stunning escort, decides to make him her exclusive driver. As she falls for him and his music, they decide to leave together. But Jin will have to double- cross some very dangerous people first.

At once lyrical, elegant and understated, this first feature film of the Frenchman Frédéric Farrucci skillfully plays with thriller codes. He offers us a passionate dive into the daily lives of the social rejects of nocturnal Paris and its forgotten neighborhoods. Actress Camélia Jordana is very convincing as a femme fatale.
