Marianne Farley (Marguerite, a finalist for Best Short Film at the Oscars in 2019) directs her first feature film. For this adventure, she has surrounded herself with inspiring collaborators, including co-writer Claude Brie and actress Céline Bonnier (The Passion of Augustine). A family drama sprinkled with thriller and road movie elements, North of Albany delicately addresses the difficulty to communicate, the urge to flee, and parenthood. We follow a mother in turmoil and her two children who, after a tragic event, leave Montreal for the South. A car breakdown forces the family to take a long break in a town of the Adirondacks.
