This is the first-time film adaptation of Annie Ernaux’s novel published in 1992. A raw and sensual drama in which a woman at a turning point in her life plunges body and soul into a troubling romantic relationship. Danielle Arbid (BEYROUTH HOTEL, PARISIENNE), the Franco-Lebanese director, films desire, alienation. submission without taking detours. In the title role, Laetitia Dosch (also starring in PLAYLIST and APPEARANCES, both presented at Cinemania 2021) proves once again her natural talent. The actress inhabits with all her means this impressive huis clos where urges and fantasies reign. The viewer leaves subjugated by so much charisma and sense of abandon.
