THE INNOCENT

This fourth feature film directed by actor Louis Garrel (after Two Friends, A Faithful Man and The Crusade) has received the highest honors as it was presented at the Cannes Film Festival's 75th anniversary ceremony, last May. This time, he combines a family story with a criminal case in what announces itself as an atypical police comedy. We follow Abel who learns that his mother Sylvie, in her sixties, is about to get married to a man in prison. With help from his best friend, he panics and tries anything and everything to protect her. But meeting his future stepfather actually opens new and unexpected perspectives instead...
