WE STUDENTS!

This is the story of filmmaker and musician Rafiki Fariala, told through the eyes of his fellow Central African students. Selected for the Berlinale and the Cinéma du Réel festival in Paris in 2022, this film straddles the line between fiction and documentary, telling the story of four friends at the University of Bangui, their difficulties, their doubts about the future, and that of the country. Alternating between overcrowded classrooms, odd jobs to survive, corruption lurking everywhere, Rafiki shows us what life is like for young people at the crossroads, in a broken society. A unique testimony about the generational changing of the guard and new voices trying to be heard.
