LUCAS BELVAUX | Guest CINEMANIA 2020

FILMMAKER / ACTOR
Lucas Belvaux decides, at 16 years old, to abandon his studies and to leave Belgium for Paris, in order to become an actor. In 1981, he made his film debut in ALLONS Z'ENFANTS, Yves Boisset's anti-militarist plea. The actor will later have many beautiful roles in films by Claude Chabrol (POULET AU VINAIGRE), Jacques Rivette (HURLEVENT) and Olivier Assayas (DÉSORDRE). At the beginning of the 90s, Lucas Belvaux gets behind the camera with PAR PAR PAR PARFOIS TROP D'AMOUR and POUR RIRE ! On the strength of this success, he launches into a triptych composed of a comedy (UN COUPLE ÉPATANT), a thriller (CAVALE) and a melodrama (APRÈS LA VIE). A committed artist, he signed in 2009, for the big screen, RAPT, a bitter and intense work led by Yvan Attal. He returns to acting in 2012 for his new production, 38 TÉMOINS.⇢ NOT TO BE MISSED ON CINEMANIA ONLINE
